Accept Christ as your Savior. It's just that easy. He will solve all your problems. After we get saved and have Christ in our hearts, it's all uphill and simple from there, right?
My Bible teacher recently told us this: "The salvation message is simple, but the walk isn't so simple." I feel like I always think that after we are saved it's supposed to be a simple life. I know that's not true, but sometimes it's hard not to believe that way. Some challenge will come up in my life and I'll think, "God, why are you doing this? It's just making my life harder!" But after we are saved, life is only going to be all the more harder. We will have more temptations, more trials, more tests, and more persecution. If we aren't having them and life seems simple, most likely something is wrong.
But....unlike the rest of the world, the difficulty of our walk leads to something incredible. If we stick it out now, if we are faithful now, in the future we will spend eternity glorifying God and resting and just being joyful. There will be no pain or fighting or needing anything. Right now maybe life seems tough, and it is. But right now it's just the dark before the morning. Those are some of the lyrics to one of my favorite songs by Josh Wilson.
"Would dare you, would you dare, to believe,
That you still have a reason to sing,
'Cause the pain you've been feeling,
Can't compare to the joy that's coming,
So hold on, you got to wait for the light,
Press on, just fight the good fight,
Because the pain you've been feeling,
It's just the dark before the morning."
Life is hard now. Christ never said it was going to be easy. But love the Lord with all your heart no matter what the circumstance, and look forward to the morning.
